It is undeniable that Coronavirus is seemingly the topic of every news channel, social media post, and article out there. Upon walking outside, it is quite clear that officials have continued forcing the closure of more and more businesses to enforce social distancing. On March 18th, the Department of Public Health stated that because cannabis serves as medicinal use, dispensaries would then be allowed to operate as essential businesses, just as pharmacies and other essential businesses are allowed.
Over the past few days, officials had speculated that there would be an extension of the shelter-in-place order, which was originally set to end on April 7. On March 30, San Francisco Mayor London Breed confirmed the extension, which is to remain in effect until May 1. The six counties that opted to sign the first order (Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Francisco and Marin) have decided to move forward with the extension, as well as the city of Berkeley.
Unfortunately at this time we donโt know what changes, if any, this may entail and according to the press release from the Mayorโs office, more information on the shelter-in-place will be provided within the days to come. During this pandemic itโs important to remember that we, the members of the community, play an important role in preventing the spread of the virus that has so drastically changed our day to day lives.
We understand that in times of so much uncertainty, there are a lot of concerns around whatโs safe and what can potentially harm us. HerbNJoy openly and often communicates with employees to ensure they are provided with information needed to help keep themselves educated and updated about COVID-19. We feel that communicating changes in company policies and procedures related to good hygiene, travel for work, quarantines, working from home, and safety precautions are highly effective ways to demonstrate to our team that we are keeping an eye out as the situation unfolds and working to keep our employees and customers safe.
One crucial component of our delivery service is using a trusted software to efficiently dispatch orders to our drivers. HerbNJoy uses OnFleet, a delivery solution software that is able to suggest the best driver for your order based on the delivery time frame. This allows for shortened delivery times and saves on fuel costs, maximizes social distancing practices, while minimizing unnecessary possibilities of exposure.
With OnFleet’s GPS tracking capabilities, dispatchers can see the real-time location of our drivers and know where they are in their order queue. This is also a convenient way for customers to track their order at a drop off location of their choice, whether at their front door or curbside.
As a way of showing ongoing support to our local community, we have decided to expand our delivery services to include San Francisco, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Daly City, South San Francisco, Brisbane, Union City, Fremont, Newark, Milpitas, and Walnut Creek. We would like to thank our beloved customers for continuing to choose us for their canna-necessities! Remember to stay informed, stay safe, and stay home!
